HomeScout was born out of frustration with the Dublin rental market. Here's why we built it.
I moved from the Netherlands to Dublin in 2026. I had a rough idea of where I wanted to live and what I thought was a reasonable budget. What I did not have was any idea how difficult finding an apartment in Dublin would actually be.
I was refreshing Daft.ie constantly, copy-pasting the same inquiry email to agents, and losing apartments because I did not see or respond to listings quickly enough. The filters were clunky. The first pages of results were full of expensive options. And figuring out whether a place was overpriced or actually a good deal was nearly impossible.
So I wrote an AI integration to help with my own search. It scanned listings, compared value, and made the whole process less chaotic. That tool became HomeScout, and I ended up finding my own apartment through it. Every feature in HomeScout comes from a real problem I hit while trying to rent in Dublin.

HomeScout.io is Dublin-built AI rental search and renter workflow software for Dublin, Cork, Galway and Limerick. It helps you search rentals, compare matches, prepare a renter profile, draft applications for human review, and review lease documents before signing.
Active Search can compare supported cities together; your primary city is a starting default. Each Rental Agent monitors one city, with a daily scheduled matching pass. Review and send is the default, and Auto Apply requires explicit opt-in and an approved active template.

Who built HomeScout?
HomeScout was built by Caspar Bannink, a Dutch software developer who moved to Dublin and experienced the broken rental market firsthand. After spending weeks refreshing Daft.ie and competing with dozens of applicants per listing, he built an AI-powered platform to fix the search experience for expats and locals.
Is HomeScout an Irish company?
HomeScout.io is Dublin-built renter software for Dublin, Cork, Galway and Limerick. It supports rental search, match monitoring and application preparation, and helps flag lease and rent questions with links to official guidance such as RTB, Citizens Information and gov.ie. It is not legal advice.
How does HomeScout make money?
